The Emerald Isle joins the family

We’re delighted that Ireland is the latest country to join the IVC family. We already have Kim Mohan, an experienced member of the small team within Independent Vetcare who is dedicated to helping practice owners who are exploring the options available to them. Kim is based in Dublin and is ably supported by colleagues Keith Chandler MRCVS and Stuart Kay MRCVS.

If you are a Practice owner in Ireland you may have heard about us already when you’ve got together with some of your colleagues in Northern Ireland. Melanie Spahn, of Glenshane Vets, Londonderry, gives her view on joining IVC:

"We are only two months into IVC and are still adjusting. It's quite overwhelming what’s on offer and there is a lot to take in, but my team and my clients have only seen benefits since joining. Our staff are delighted with the possibilities of developing their skills through CPD and the extra benefits of being part of the IVC family. This is something I could only previously offer in small doses … As we are a mixed practice, both farm and companion animal clients have not experienced any negative effects from us joining IVC … the only thing they want is continuity regarding staff and they expect their animals to be looked after really well. It has always been our aim to offer an excellent service to our clients and their animals, and as IVC has that same aim, joining can only be seen as a win-win combination.

As an owner, vet and also Practice Manager, I could never put all my ideas into practise – there was either no time to do it or it was too expensive. Now, I have a wealth of tools available and a lot of experienced people to help me. We have Rhonda, a great Business Support Manager. If I ask her a question, she either has an answer or gets me in contact with the person who does. The Facebook forums are a fantastic way to get information from other practices. And CD meetings, well, I’ve only done one, but I see some great opportunities to work together with other IVC practices, neighbouring or referral."
