St George's Vets, Wolverhampton

We currently have an opportunity available for a Veterinary Surgeon to practice emergency and critical care in a night role with our proficient and friendly team. Our hospital provides daytime care too, so patients can be managed 24h a day when required. Our practice has a strong culture of outstanding client care and excellent patient care.
Our well-equipped hospital allows comprehensive investigations and care. All the usual kit plus MyLab Seven ultrasound, EPOC blood gas analyser, Idexx coagulation analyser, tonopen and vetario incubator. CT scanner and laparoscopy equipment both arriving this winter.
St George’s Vets provides emergency consultations and overnight care for pets of our clients and those of 11 other local practices and their branches. This role includes performing these consultations and this overnight care, plus diagnostic investigations and medical or surgical treatment as required. Communication with clients and the other practices involved completes the role.
Much of this role is sole-charge so some experience is required to be able to manage the cases presented.
The week-on, 3 weeks-off work pattern allows plenty of time for other interests. Bedroom on-site and sleep during shift encouraged.
Exposure to a good quantity of appropriate cases means the role is very well-suited to those looking to study for a certificate, which would be fully supported.
Great location central to transport links with the choice of countryside only 15 minutes away by car and Birmingham city centre only 15 minutes away by train.
