Ivybank Vets, Irvine
If you understand that allusion then bring your guitar to an interview at Ivybank Vets in Irvine (Ayrshire). If you don't get the connection, then don't worry. You can still apply for the job.
What is the job? Willie Sinclair (that's me) is retiring in 2019 and there is a vacancy for my post of joint Clinical Director. You would be responsible for the surgical and medical side of the practice while our other Clinical Director Rosie Sorrie, deals with the business stuff.
We are a three-site practice (Irvine, Kilwinning and West Kilbride) with 8 vets and a bunch of RVNs and receptionists, around thirty colleagues in all. I am the last of the original old-guard and have been continuously responsible (jointly) for the development of the practice since 1986. It's time for a change.
What my colleagues want is someone not only to join them in the day to day consulting and operating but, almost more importantly, to oversee and implement the ongoing development of the clinical side of the practice. That sounds a bit jargonised but as we've recently joined Independent Vetcare, there are now huge opportunities to take the practice and make it even greater than it is already. It's far too exciting for an old geezer like me and I think it's time for fresh eyes looking at the job, a new pair of hands on the reins and to add new ingredients to the recipe. Sorry about the mixed metaphors.
What next? If you're even slightly interested then please email your CV to Laura at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07484520516 for more information. Google has some nice pictures of Arran (not in our patch but definitely on our wallpaper) and the delights of the Ayrshire coast. Glasgow is a half-hour train ride away if you need city amenities.
