Registered Veterinary Nurse
Hallam Veterinary Centre, Holme Lane
We are a long established veterinary practice, providing veterinary care in Hillsborough since the 1920s. We were a mixed practice until 2003, when we became solely Small Animal. We take great pride in the fact we can offer a bespoke veterinary service to all our clients, tailored to their individual needs both at our main premises in Hillsborough and our small branch surgery nearby in Crookes.
Our experienced team will have time to provide support where necessary. We have a very varied medical and surgical caseload, and in house and visiting cardiology certificate holders offering a referral service and the equipment to deal with those cases. The ideal candidate will be friendly, compassionate and caring, have great communication skills and be able to work as an integral part of a team.
We are a training practice, and the successful candidate would ideally show a keen interest in becoming a clinical coach, joining our existing clinical coach in this role. Training can be arranged if this needs renewing. We believe in having a good work/life balance. To this effect you will have a half day a week, only one evening surgery per week, and a 1.5 in 6 weekend rota (weekends worked until 12pm Saturday and 11am Sunday)
Our location in Hillsborough in North/West Sheffield (The Outdoor City) on the very edge of the beautiful Peak District makes us ideal for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits. Walking, running, mountain biking, climbing are all catered for locally - you really are spoilt for choice for what to do with your time off!
Our experienced vets are capable of dealing with the vast majority of cases in-house, supported by our excellent team of RVN's. This makes Hallam Vets a great place to learn and further your skills. CPD is encouraged and funded and we offer a competitive salary, exclusive company discounts, reward schemes and career development.
