Debt Advisor

Serving our practices in the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.  Visiting practices and advising on their debt position, causes of debt and sharing best practice principles.  The role will involve overnight stays, one to two per week, but dependent on business needs. 
Responsible for:
  • Arranging and prioritising visits to practices as requested by BSMs
  • Preparation of debt figures and graphs from centrally provided debt report, prior to visits
  • Review up to date aged debtors report in practice for Small Animal, Farm and Equine, and discuss the following: 
    • Outstanding Daily Debt Report or equivalent
    • Insurance Claims direct and indirect
    • Allocation of payments/credits
    • BACS payments
    • Estimates and telephone calls following treatment/surgey
    • Categorisation of Debtors
    • Payments for Euthanasia
    • Charities
    • Staff Debt
    • Terms and Conditions
    • Reminders and Debtsolve
    • Carefree Credit
    • Cashing Up Process
    • Credit
    • Record Keeping
    • GDPR 
  • Issue a report to the Practice Manager and BSM following each visit with action plans
  • Prepare and Deliver Presentations on Debt Management to Practice Managers and Head Nurses for the Leadership Course
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for Regional Practice Manager Meetings
Person Specification:
Essential
  • Must be a people-person
  • Experience of small animal, large and equine practice
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and financially minded
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passionate about debt management
  • Strong presentational skills
  • Knowledge of Jupiter/Voyager/Vetspace
Desirable
  • Knowledge of PMS systems other than Jupiter/Voyager/Vetspace
  • Experience of delivering training
  • Detailed knowledge of IVC Daily Takings process
  • Knowledge of Profit and Loss Accounts
