Job Title:             Senior Ledger Clerk – Group Council Tax
Reporting To:    Group Reconciliation Supervisor
Job Description:
Senior Purchase ledger role supporting existing business within IVC
Responsible for the more complex reconciliation and processing tasks.
  • Maintenance of the council tax accounts for the IVC and Non IVC ledgers 
  • This means Council tax bills for T&As received within 30 days of completion
  • No credit balances on council tax accounts once the OBs go in
  • Dealing with opening balance tidy up from the completion accounts process
  • Ensuring initial tidy up is complete at OB stage, and all issues are flushed through within 15 days to enable them to be picked up at VA stage
  • Complete final tidy up following VA posted
  • No credit balances older than 30 days once VA finalised
  • Processing any manual payments required
  • Completion of month-end statement reconciliations for some group suppliers
  • Escalation point from the Help desk team to resolve queries on your ledger if required, and ensure they stay within their 24 hr SLA response time
  • Ensuring all tasks for which you are responsible are completed to a high standard of quality, and the teams SLA is adhered to at all times
  • Buddy support to new team members, ensuring they are trained and fully understand all aspects of quality and the SLA requirements
  • Help create and promote a positive and supportive environment within the team
  • Willingness and ability to pick up ad-hoc tasks as directed by the team Management, and still ensure all tasks for which you are responsible for are completed on time, and to the correct standard
  • Filing up to date daily
  • Any other tasks as directed 
Person Specification:
  • Currently studying AAT (or similar) / or completed qualification
  • Able to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Confident of dealing with a high volume workload
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Flexible approach to work
  • A strong team ethic
  • Ability to take the lead within the team, in the absence of other senior team members
  • Be a go-to person for queries within the team
  • Experience of Open Accounts would be an advantage
  • Excel skills including V look ups and pivot tables
