Portland House Equine Vets require a full time equine Vet to join their team working in a completely self-sufficient equine branch within a larger mixed practice.
This is an ambulatory role aided by modern mobile equipment – DR digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscope, powered dental equipment etc.
We are looking for a Vet with ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience in equine (or mixed) practice who is confident and competent with all aspects of routine work and is ready to develop further. An ability to work up routine lameness cases would be an advantage. We have a mixed sport/leisure horse population with lovely clients and a very varied caseload, so we require someone with excellent communication skills who will work well with our existing client base and assist in the continuing growth of this relatively young practice.
This is a really exciting role as we offer complete clinical freedom and encourage the development and promotion of your own area of interest. With this in mind we are seeking someone with self-motivation, initiative and good business sense who is capable of working both independently and as part of our established team.
We offer a 4.5 day week, car and the usual subscriptions. Salary commensurate with experience. CPD funded and encouraged. Weekends are currently on a 1 in 3 rota and our out-of-hours work tends to be extremely quiet. It is very rare that you don't finish on time (5pm) on weekdays.
