I was ready to take on the responsibility of running a practice but didn't want to be saddled with debt

Rosalind's story

We're sure you've got loads of questions. You'll find the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions below. But if you can't find the answer you're looking for, get in touch.

  • What does the process look like to you?

Contact our Recruitment Manager, Debbie Loding. She knows where we have opportunities and will be able to progress your application. Debbie’s email is dloding@independentvetcare.co.uk

  • What qualifications do I need?

If you are going for a Clinical Directorship, we would expect a vet with at least 2 years post graduate experience. For Practice Managers it’s rather different – we have PMs who have come up through practice (often nursing – though sometimes ex vets) but we also have people who have never worked in the vet industry before. It’s all about the individual.

  • What type of jobs are considered to be ‘running your practice’?

Clinical Directors and Practice Managers are the key roles to running practices. If you are interested in either role we want to hear from you.

  • What if I want to work in a specific geographical area?

With over 900 practices across the UK we are likely to have a position in the right area. If we don’t, we can always keep you on record and contact you when the opportunity arises!

  • How much am I expected to invest in the business?

£0. There are no strings attached.

  • Is there ‘on the job’ training?

Yes. We run a Leadership programme for all Practice Managers and Clinical Directors.

Exceptional support services

Every practice in the IVC family gets access to the same exceptional support services. These include:

  • Business, finance and clinical support

  • Procurement and group purchasing

  • Marketing, HR, training and recruitment

  • Access to our Pet Health Club

  • Continuing professional development and clinical standards

  • Property maintenance, investment and management

We'd love to hear from you

If you're wondering what's involved in running a practice, or have a burning question, then Debbie, our Recruitment Manager, would love to hear from you.
